On Saturday, we had a very busy day. That morning I was able to have an hour visit with Jenelle. Have not seen her in two years. It was nice to catch up with her and hear what has been going on in her life the past two years.
We also scheduled our home inspection for the house we are buying. We went over thursday to check the water, but it was not turned on yet. When we went friday, it definately was turned on. We were ready to see if the inspector would find anything that we already did not know about. The inspector found the septic, but we have no idea what kind of septic it is. It might not have a cap for pumping. It might have to be dug up with a backhoe and pumped. The good thing is that the kitchen is on its own. There were somethings that we thought were kind of stupid that he wrote up. It is a foreclosed home, do you really think there will be light bulbs. He said we were deficient in that. So no one has been living there in at least 6 months, do you really think that the leaves would be removed away from the house. So there were a lot of little stupid things like that. However, the house is in good shape and good bones. I cannot wait till we move in. We will be out of our place by mid June.
We have a lot to do once we close. Upgrade electrical panel, paint, replace doors, fix doors, floor, and the two biggest things - move washer and dryer to garage, and remodel the kitchen (which includes knocking out a wall).
Definately will be posting pictures once we get started on the work.

becoming homeowners
So Tim and I have started this journey of buying a home. There was a whole lot of problems once we placed the offer a few weeks ago. The house we like is listed on a action website that we did not really know about till after going through all the paperwork for the offer. After much waiting and being on edge, we finally got an email saying that our offer was accepted. We had to sign a bunch of paperwork and then send it back. We then had to wait for the seller to sign off on the paperwork before we can move forward. Well now we are moving forward. We are excited that we can proceed. We have scheduled home inspections and termite inspections. Since it is a foreclosed home, we have turn on the water and electricity. The listing agent will take care of the water while we take care of the electricity. Electricity was so nice and easy.
We will have a lot of work to do on the house. We have to paint the entire house. The bedrooms colors are bright yellow, bright blue, and a Texas Aggie Red. So those will be going away. We also have to replace all the carpet in those rooms. The kitchen will be completely remodeled. We will be removing a wall and expanding the kitchen. Moving the washer and dryer to the garage. So looking forward to making the house uniquely ours.

Will definately be taking more pictures and showing the work that we will be doing. The house sits on 2 acres so there will be a lot of mowing. There is also a lot of trees.

It has been almost a year since I last posted. I need to be more diligent about writing. Life has been a roller coaster since I last wrote.
Last year, I was planning my June wedding to Tim. It took place on June 30th in the not so sunny corner of California. We took plenty of pictures in the Redwood trees on Tuesday of the wedding week. It was nice, sunny, and everything was so green. We enjoyed it. Had a great rehearsal dinner. We finished it off with a bon fire on the beach. Could not have asked for a better time. Our wedding was amazing. Mom and dad did awesome putting it all together. The only thing that was not really planned for was the rain. Had some great pictures taken in the rain. It was a small and intimate ceremony. We left that evening to go to the airport for our extremely early flight.
We decided on Yellowstone for our honeymoon. I really enjoyed it. I cannot wait to go back. We stayed there for about a week at a ranch just outside the park. We explored the park for two days. Spent the 4th in town and our last day we spent on horse back. Never fly after riding horse for 6 hours. Man we were so stiff the next day. We had problems with our flights home. I also tossed out the word honeymoon a few times especially when they wanted us to give up our seats.
The first few months of our marriage was trying to get into the swing of sharing beds and taking care of his mom's house. There were many sleepless nights as we trying to adjust to sleeping together.
At the beginning of October, Tim's grandpa died. We made a quick trip to Montana. Definitely did not pack according to the weather. It was cold and snowing and raining. But the day of the funeral, it was sunny but still on the cold side.
At the end of October, a friend of mine passed away unexpectedly. His death everyone who knew him hard. We were not able to make the funeral due to things out of our control. I was able to make it to Seattle to visit with his wife and my college roommate. It was a great rip. I am so thankful that Tim allowed me to go. It was a great present.
At the beginning of December, Tim and I were told that our rent was going to go up in price June 1st. The price increase is more than a house payment. So we decided to look for a house. We found one that we liked and put an offer on it. She rejected our offer so we decided to more forward and look at other places. We recently just found another house and put an offer on this one. They countered and we accepted their offer. However, we did not get the house. we are still tying to figure out what happened. It is a foreclosure which was being sold by this online company. They decided to open it up to all offers in a 24 hour period. When that closed it looed like we got the house. But our agent got an email saying that we did not get the house. Our offer was being a back up offer. Dad is looking into things. Have not heard anything yet. The website says under contract, the MLS listing says Active.
